OUR STORY

THE FOUNDER

I am a Strong British Afghan woman very passionate and determined to empower the young people who have migrated from countries, like Afghanistan, to make them feel powerful and to give a space to express their emotions in ANOTHER WAY!

I understand the huge responsibilities and I am very passionate about breaking those stereotypes about Central Asian women and show the different types of high power we truly have within ourselves!

THE CONCEPT

In late 2019, the seeds of The Secret Vault were planted as I envisioned a space that celebrated the art and the story of dance and provided a platform for exceptional talent. The planning phase was meticulous, with a focus on creating a unique and vibrant dance community.

THE PLANNING

Countless hours were dedicated to shaping the company’s vision, from conceptualizing choreography styles to assembling a team of passionate instructors. The dream became a reality in the beginning of 2022, as The Secret Vault officially launched, bringing together a fusion of creativity, a beautiful story and professionalism.

THE NAME

Why is it called The Secret Vault? When I was younger, I used to view a dance studio as a precious yet a secret space ONLY for dancers to come and express their feelings, once that door was shut, it was you and the music! We are looking for those new gems ready to start shining! I want new faces, new talent, and new ideas!

Everyone that comes to dance in the secret vault are those beautiful gems, safe and encouraged to shine their own way! We understand that in this generation is very difficult to walk into the dance industry and have your big break, that’s why we we welcome everyone who wants to really start on their dance Journey!

THE DREAM

My biggest dream is to have an impact and influence on the young people of colour who felt like they cannot express themselves the way they want, this is a space where we can make it happen!

AFGHAN OWNED

Kabul, Afghanistan, A country that has so many different beautiful colours and stories, a powerful culture that uses dancing as a way that shows unity and love for example the Attan, traditionally a war dance to show GREAT FORCE now being used as a symbol of love, this showed me from a young age the beauty of interpretation and appreciation! Which originally is what inspired me to dance, and more importantly dance as a career!

THE TEAM

4EYEDBARBIE

My name is Barbie, and I am the CEO of the secret vault! I started dancing at the age of 8 and became a professional dancer at the age of 16, started officially teaching at 17!

ABOUT MY CLASSES

The aim of my classes have always been the concept of POWER. What do you define as power? What does it look like? Does it differ for you in different situations? I want to see that! True and pure empowerment! We want to push boundaries and limitations! There is no such thing as ‘in the box’ in my classes, that box does not exist! Show me the weird in weirdo! Let’s see what happens when our minds and body WORK TOGETHER, let’s show our story together!

DANCE STYLES

I teach styles such as, Street dance, hiphop , break dance, Afro beats, heels, Acro heels, metal , reggaeton and theatrical! But I mainly specialise in Street Dance! I also give training for performances and competitions! But the goal of every single class is to define a new way of expressing POWER.

ANGELA

I’ve been dancing to commercial, street and hiphop styles since around 2021 but my dance journey initially started off dance at the age of 6, where I did ballet and tap until age 15, where I started getting into K-pop.

MORE ABOUT ME

After trying to copy K-pop idols and doing K-pop covers and competitions during uni, I met a bunch of hiphop dancers at a practice area and found it so cool that they had something different that I didn’t have and since then I dived way more into dance, getting addicted to learning the ins and outs, and pretty much started loving all the dance styles really!

DANCE STYLES

The style I teach is usually commercial where I focus on different energies we can bring out of ourselves and how that builds character through our movement and facials. I tend to mix different types of energies and movements whether that is masculine or feminine, and sometimes involve floor work to spice things up.

KASSY

I started my dance journey back in 2019, just taking classes for fun but then I realised very early on that I wanted to train to be a professional dancer. Since then, I have trained in styles of Commercial, Heels, Hip-Hop and Dancehall.

MORE ABOUT ME

I have also been involved in dancing in concept videos, music videos and performed on stages. It’s not about getting the choreography right, it’s about enjoying and expressing yourself. If you come to any of my classes, I can offer you the basic foundations when dancing in heels and new moves/tricks to take to other classes or into your freestyles. Hope to see you in class soon!

DANCE STYLES

In The Secret Vault Dance Company, I mainly teach Heels classes, but that doesn’t always mean slow and sensual. It could also mean, Commercial in heels, Afro in heels or Hip-Hop in heels. I like to switch it up. My aim for my classes is to build your confidence through dance and how to work with the camera when being filmed.

CLOUTBEAR

Immersed in the world of dance since 2018, I’ve specialized in choreographing for heels classes, blending creativity and technique in every step. My classes are more than just movements; they’re a gateway to liberation, confidence, and empowerment.

MORE ABOUT ME

I aim to cultivate an environment where students not only learn new techniques but also discover their inner strength, leaving each session feeling free, confident, and powerful.

DANCE STYLES

My Dance Style Has always been about sensuality and freedom, it’s all about the heels and feels, it’s about understanding your body better, and the power, when it comes to dancing in heels, we want to embrace the Beauty of the stiletto and really express the pure talent that comes with dancing in heels! My choreography star has always been on the simple, yet effective side with tricks that you can take on with you in the future, that can ‘WOW’ yourself and the people around you! The sexy, the femininity (yet open to EVERYONE) and development of bringing out your high RULING energy!

DI-JO

DI-JO has had years of experience in dance shows and performances in dancehall, hip hop and commercial dance styles. She is self taught and believes that dance is a form of escapism, an opportunity to let go of stress and a chance to express yourself as an individual! She dances to feel free and expose her creativity and wants to share the ability to execute choreo in a way that is unique to each dancer! Let’s bring the party to the studio!!!

AERYN

My name is Trevor Evbuomwan but I prefer to go by Aeryn for anything dance related. I have been dancing for 5 years now and it’s always been about self exploitation through dance. My main dance style has always been commerical and I’ve been inspired by artist like Beyoncé however I try to bring a fusion of styles that meld with the music to each class and hope to present dance that can make people feel good and enjoy whilst pushing their skills to the upmost! My main training purposes with every dance students is muscle memory, that’s why I push my choreography to be longer so we can help train our students to pick up choreography faster.

LIOCHYUU

I have been training in different styles over the past 5 years: commercial, hip-hop, street, afro and heels. My dance journey started in 2018 in Amsterdam, when I learned Kpop choreographies in my free time and went to dance classes almost 5 days a week. I moved to London in 2020 and have broadened my knowledge in Heels and Commercial while working on my foundations in hip-hop and other styles.

DANCE STYLES

My main styles of teaching are Heels and Commercial. I love using the songs vibe and lyrics to portray a character through dance and always encourage everyone in my class to really commit to it. My classes will be different each time, you can expect: a feminine heels choreo with floor work, or a choreo to a badass song to get that inner bad b out, or a cute choreo where we explore our inner hello kitty.

CRIMSON

Hi all, my name is Amelia, better known as Crimson, i teach styles including heels/acro-heels with a rock n roll twist. Through each choreography i create, i aim to embrace an intimidating sexy feel through powerful, sensual and striking moves that require a lot of bodily strength and persona. Pushing boundaries of every dancer that joins the secret vault, revealing a exciting and unique choreography each time. As the CEO says “we dance to express not impress”, and that is exactly what i venture to do.

MORE ABOUT ME

I am passionate that you don’t have to do crazy moves to be considered a good performer, if you can make the audience interested doing something as simple as a walk you’re a great performer.

DANCE STYLES

My choreography further allows each individual to become more in-tune with themselves and what they can push can do not only as a performer but person to. through combing the heels genre with my personal rockstar aesthetic i strive to create an atmosphere people haven’t necessarily come across before. encouraging each student to try something new and step into an alternative version of themselves and deepens personal growth. i hope to see you rock it at my future classs!
